Get involved with your club!

Recently we have appointed our new committee however we are still looking for a new Vice President to join us. Mark has done a great job over the past year and we are looking to support the new VP with a greater investment in membership technology to simplify the role. Mark has done a great job and will continue to be a great part of our club.

Here is a message to you all from the man himself.

Good afternoon everyone. I am just reminding you, that I have stepped down as Vice President of TCCAV. I invite anyone who is interested in stepping into this important role, to contact myself, or another club committee member. The club requires a Vice President and if someone can see themselves stepping up, it will certainly ease the workload of all other committee members to focus on bringing bigger and better events to the club. As a committee member, you get to have a say in all aspects of TCCAV.

Thankyou, Mark Allen.

If you would like more information on the role or think it might be for you please contact Frank Ferrantino at or Mark at

Event Coverage: All Toyota Winterfest Part 3

For Part 3 of our All Toyota Winterfest 2015 coverage it’s all about the classic rollas!

Corolla’s have remained on of the most popular Toyota’s across their entire lifespan and there was no shortage of fine over 25 year old examples at Winterfest.

The first gen Corollas have become a timeless classic. Petite and well proportioned with beautiful chrome accents.

In Sprinter configuration there are as fresh as a Tic Tac.

Itazura02The second generation like most Toyota’s grew a little in size but still retained the charm.

DSC03711editAs the popularity of the Corolla grew with Aussie consumers so did the size with the third gen platform. They still retained their classic design cues though. Who misses the days of model specific badges?

Honda power propelled this beast down from Sydney. Such a clean conversion must be commended.

The forth generation Corolla took a drastic change in styling adopting the square box craze of the 80’s.

Variety in the model line was always a Corolla strength and the gen five platform didn’t disappoint. FWD, RWD, sedan, hatch, liftback, 3, 4 or 5 doors, there was no shortage of choice. Today with the addition of personal imports there is more than you can poke a stick at.

Stay tuned for Part 4 when we take a look at some of the non-Corolla variety on show.

All Toyota Winterfest 2015

All Toyota Winterfest has grown significantly in each of the first 3 years and when we first looked at the Sandown area we thought we may struggle to fill the venue. As it turns out that wasn’t a problem. As the race cars were setting up at one end of the Sandown Pit complex over 300 show cars were quickly filling the other end. There was a constant stream arriving of Toyota & Lexus cars of all models from the early Toyota Sports 800 right through to the current Lexus RCF.

There was certainly enough on display to keep everyone happy for hours. New or old didn’t matter on the day, everything was appreciated.

Toyota 86 GTS & Aurion

The Nugget Nationals crew came along with a small display of their budget race car series. With Toyota Echo’s and Starlets making up a large part of their entries it just goes to show how these cheap and nimble cars can be a good entry point to getting out on the track. Some of the lap times they are currently setting around Winton are very impressive. Ying from Nugget Nationals along with JS Creations also donated third prize for the charity raffle with some Nugget Nationals t-shirts and a JS Creations Celica hoodie. Ying has also put together a nice write up on the day from her perspective on the Noisy Ninja blog:

The aforementioned Toyota Sports 800 is an iconic Toyota launched 50 years ago in 1965. There aren’t many examples in Australia that have survived through to today but we are very lucky to have this regularly driven Yota-Hachi attend the majority of our shows.

StreetStatik kindly donated a professional automotive photo shoot as second prize in the charity raffle and also managed to get some great photos throughout the day.

Toyota Celica TA22 Hot Wheels

Walking around the cars there was no shortage of inspiration for anyone looking to get motivated on their own builds. Fans of 1:64 scale cars might notice the subtle Hot Wheels inspiration on this 1:1 scale Celica.

StreetStatik Winterfest 2015

Peter Sinclair from Lexus Australia brought along the new RC350 and RCF as the feature cars of this year’s show. As part of the package Peter donated our first place raffle prize with the lucky winner experiencing several spirited laps as a passenger in the RCF during the lunch time break. Thanks to Peter along with Toyota & Lexus Australia for this unique opportunity and to Peter himself who hung around all day telling countless stories of his many years at Toyota & Lexus.

Another popular car was Import Revolutions Mark X. Let’s hope we have one of these in the club soon.
