Championships

In 2024 our club championships for Motorkhana and Speed events will now be competed over 3-4 events per discipline. This smaller requirement we hope will encourage more TCCAV members to get involved in the friendly competition.

Equally, the points system has been revised after being tested in 2023 and will now see your class results multiplied by a Competitor Weighting System to determine the outright champion. This will allow members competing in larger classes equal opportunity to those competing in a smaller class where a higher result and therefore points are otherwise assured.

Key events like the Terry Baker Motorsport Weekend will also have more points available than the remaining rounds. This is to encourage strong participation in our marquee motorsport event.

In addition, several Cups will be held for competitors competing in older vehicles or members running events such as the Nugget Nationals series.

The 2024 TCCAV Motorkhana Championship will exclusively take place on sealed surfaces.

The member with the highest overall points across the 4 rounds will be our 2024 TCCAV Motorkhana Champion and will receive the Theo Wintels Memorial Trophy.

The 2024 Speed Championship will be a multi-discipline championship taking in both Hillclimb and Sprint events.

The member with the highest accumulated points across the 3 rounds will be crowned our 2024 Speed Champion with a new perpetual trophy to be handed to the winner.

To determine an outright champion in Speed and Motorkhana, your class results will be multiplied by a factor depending on the number of competitors in your class.

EG: If there are 7 competitors in your class, your class points will be multiplied by 1.7 to determine your outright event points.

This means members competing in a more competitive class have an equalised opportunity to score as many points as someone in a class with only 1 or 2 competitors which would otherwise assure a higher finishing position with higher points.

The Champion Driver has been re-instated as our top motorsport award. In 2024 the recipient will be the highest points scorer across all events making up the TCCAV Speed and Motorkhana Championships.

The highest Female points scorer across all events making up the TCCAV Speed and Motorkhana Championships.

The highest Junior points scorer across all events making up the TCCAV Speed and Motorkhana Championships. To be eligible for the Junior category competitors must be 18 years or under in the first round of the calendar year.

The Retro Cup is a new multi-discipline championship for road-registered or club permit vehicles that are 25 years or older at the beginning of the first round. If you enter any of the 3 events below in an eligible vehicle that is driven to the event your points will count towards this cup.

The Echo Cup is for all TCCAV members competing in any Nugget Nationals eligible vehicle, even if it’s not a Toyota. Your best 4 results from the 6 round Nugget Nationals Series will count towards the cup.
